Prepare the Chicken:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for medium-high heat. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Season the Chicken:
Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper on top. Rub the seasonings into the chicken to make sure each piece is evenly coated.

Cook the Chicken:

Oven Method: Place the seasoned chicken thighs skin-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
Grill Method: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Add the Barbecue Sauce:
During the last 10 minutes of cooking, brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the chicken. Be sure to reserve some sauce for serving. Allow the sauce to caramelize on the chicken during the final minutes of cooking.

Serve:
Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the oven or grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side and garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color.
