Crispy Fried Chicken with Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Instructions:
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Cook the diced potatoes in a large pot with salted water until they become soft, which should take around 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
Warm the milk, butter, and minced garlic together in a small saucepan until the butter is fully melted.
Mash the potatoes and stir in the milk mixture until smooth and creamy.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm until ready to serve.
Prepare the Fried Chicken:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Dip each chicken piece into the milk, then coat it evenly in the flour mixture.
Fry the Chicken:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
Fry the chicken pieces in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, for 8-10 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Ensure the chicken is thoroughly cooked by checking with a meat thermometer; it should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Plate the mashed potatoes and top with crispy fried chicken.
